Same Purifying Cleanser. A New, Clearer Look.

If you're a long-time fan of our Purifying Cleanser, you may have noticed something a little different when you opened your latest bottle.

It's much clearer.

Previously, Purifying Cleanser had a distinctive light tea colour. Our latest production is almost clear — so we wanted to explain why.

The good news? It's still the Purifying Cleanser you know and love.

It's all about the white tea

White tea has long been one of the key botanicals in our Purifying Cleanser, alongside aloe vera, lavender, clary sage and native New Zealand kōwhai.

Previously, the white tea leaves used in the formulation were infused in oil. This gave the finished cleanser its characteristic darker, tea-like colour.

We now use a high-quality, stable, water-soluble white tea leaf extract.

Because Purifying Cleanser is predominantly water-based, this form of white tea extract is much more naturally compatible with the formulation.

The extract uses glycerin to help draw out the beneficial compounds from the tea leaves. Glycerin is also a humectant, helping to attract and retain moisture in the skin.

And because the new extract doesn't have the darker colour created by the previous infusion process, your Purifying Cleanser now looks much clearer too.

So, has the cleanser changed?

The botanical ingredient is still white tea leaf extract and the purpose and performance of the Purifying Cleanser remain the same.

What has changed is the way that white tea extract is prepared and incorporated into the formulation.

The result is a stable, gentle, water-compatible extract — and a noticeably clearer-looking cleanser.

Still gentle. Still naturally effective.

Purifying Cleanser remains our gentle daily foaming cleanser, designed to deeply cleanse without leaving skin feeling stripped or dry.

It's particularly suited to normal, combination, oily and teen skin, with:

• White Tea — antioxidant-rich botanical care
• Aloe Vera — helps soothe and hydrate
• Clary Sage — helps balance the skin
• Lavender — naturally calming and refreshing
• Kōwhai — a beautiful New Zealand botanical extract

So if your latest bottle looks different from the last one, there's no need to worry.
